Beretta (Italian)

Beretta is my favorite spot to eat in the Mission.  It is not too pricey, has an absolutely amazing bar staff, the food is out of this world and the ambiance/location are awesome.  Warning- you will find Beretta jam packed with young Mission hipsters any night of the week. They don't take reservations so make sure to call ahead to get your name on the list for a table (you can call within 30 minutes of arrival) or if you luck out you may score a couple of seats at the bar and eat there while you watch the cocktail masters at work.  And they really are masters!  My favorite cocktail is the Diablo, second favorite is the Airmail.  As for food, ask for burrata cheese on everything- especially the pizzas.  My favorite dishes are the meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, arugula and fennel salad and proscuitto di parma pizza (with burrata added).
